Exosonic Announces That the Company Is Undergoing the Shutdown Process

Torrance, CA – Unfortunately, Exosonic announces today that the company is winding down. After over five years of chasing the pursuits of quiet supersonic travel and supersonic drone development, the company could not find the traction necessary to continue its journey. Although the founders and team still believe in the need / desire for quiet supersonic flight and supersonic drones for the US Dept of Defense, without further customer support for either concept, the company cannot sustain the cash needs to make further advancements. If a company is interested in acquiring the IP the company has generated, please email us at info@exosonic.com

We are proud at Exosonic for accomplishing all that we did with the cash we received over the years. We developed three unique vehicles: a quiet supersonic airliner named Horizon, the supersonic UAV named Revenant, and the subscale supersonic UAV named Trident, which we flew this past April. We were able to show that not only can we design supersonic vehicles, but even fly them, albeit in a subscale, subsonic format. Very few companies have taken a supersonic design and flown it at any scale. Even fewer with the budget and timeline that Exosonic had. Our test flight is a testament to our company’s talented employees, all of whom have found new opportunities to pursue, and our core IP, our aircraft design tool suite.

Thank you to all those that have supported us along our adventure. Firstly, to our employees who worked tirelessly to get through flight tests, multiple aircraft design sprints, wind tunnel testing, proposal writing, and many other activities. We thank our customers, both commercial and government, for providing the support, feedback, and funding to explore supersonic transport and drone development for the DoD. We are grateful to our many investors who invested in us with their capital to embark on the adventure of developing an airplane company. We appreciate the many mentors and advisors who helped guide us through the mazes of the commercial aircraft purchasing process, government business development, start-up fundraising, hiring, and general company formation. We could not have accomplished all that we did without our many suppliers and partners who have helped us fabricate our aircraft in record time, construct test equipment to validate our computational models, supply us with software to run our simulations, and share our story to the world through our social media channels. We are honored to have received positive press reporting on Exosonic and its many news updates throughout the years, ranging from podcast interviewers, industry press, and the mainstream media channels. To all that stayed updated on our journey, we thank you for your support and shared love for our company’s vision and mission. For those that continue to be in the race, such as Boom Supersonic, Hermeus, Destinus, Venus Aerospace, Spectre Aerospace, and others, we wish you the best on your super/hypersonic campaigns. We will be rooting for you from the sidelines.
